The Role - Nurse Advisor, Nurse Specialist , Ostomy and Stoma Care

We are looking for an experienced Stoma Care Nurse who has the passion, drive and commitment to develop and deliver stoma care in collaboration with the NHS team within the East London community.
Provide an ethical professional Stoma Nurse service to patients within NMC/NMBI, RCN and company guidelines
Provide specialist Stoma clinic reviews for patients in the London area
Undertake an Appliance Use Review (AUR) on each clinical consultation as per company and DoH Guidelines
Provide an expert level of professional and clinical care utilising evidence based practice in compliance with professional and company standards and guidelines
Utilize specialist skills to offer advice and support to patients, families and healthcare professionals for Stoma related problems
Communicate effectively and provide feedback to referring/managing healthcare professional in a timely and efficient manner
Effectively and efficiently plan, manage and organise caseload and time
Maintain clinical records in accordance with Company/legal and professional requirements and complete in a timely manner
Provide a telephone helpline facility for patients and for those referred from the Charter Health Care service
Instigate working practices to ensure collaboration between members of the acute/community health care teams, striving for continuity, cohesion and consistency in care
Generate and maintain effective communication and working relationships with all appropriate health care professionals e.g. Colorectal surgeons, Specialist Nurses, GPs, Community Nurses, Patient Associations etc.
Initiate and deliver educational support to fellow health care professionals within the London area.
To act as a resource in providing expert information and advice to patients, carers, public and professional agencies as appropriate
Undertake service audit/evaluation activities in order to monitor standards, maintain service provision and identify opportunities for improvement
Participate in research activities and initiate opportunities to evaluate the experience of patients living with an ostomy
We are looking for a Specialist Nurse with stoma care experience to work in Partnership with this busy NHS stoma care department. Having clinical expertise is our first priority, but experience within the commercial nurse sector would be an advantage, although not essential.
