Role: Director of Commercial Excellence
Therapy Area: Chronic Care – Continence Care and Ostomy
Location: Head Office based role – Cambridgeshire

This is an exciting new opportunity to work as Director of Commercial Excellence. In this role you will be a part of the Chronic Care Senior Leadership team, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President UKI and will be responsible for managing the Commercial Excellence team. The Commercial Excellence team is critical in enhancing the performance of Company’s Chronic Care business in the UK & Ireland, the largest Chronic Care market within the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
Commercial Strategy Development:
Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute the commercial strategy for the UKI.
Build and run our annual strategic planning process.
Assess market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and commercial development strategies.
Lead or participate in strategic projects, e.g. investment cases, account strategies or commercial change management process’.
Managing Tender submissions, ensuring we have best possible change of success.
Revenue and Forecasting.
Lead annual, monthly and quarterly forecasting activities, substantiating and interpreting forecasts provided.
Following up diligently on the Company UK sales performance and interacting pro-actively with HQ on performance and performance drivers.
Performance Management:
Building efficient and high-quality performance management processes across the UK & Ireland – encompassing the comprehensive organisation from the Senior Leadership Team to the Regional Sales Team
Implement sales processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales force.
Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve sales performance.
Validating and delivering quarterly field bonus scheme payouts.
Data Analytics and Commercial Insights:
Develop and utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools to extract actionable insights, especially within Consumer parts of the business.
Ensure build and maintenance of local data infrastructure and data models.
Assisting Senior Management and facilitating the sharing of best practice across Sales, Marketing and our Consumer Care team.
Team Leadership:
Lead and develop an experienced team of around 8 commercial excellence professionals.
Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional development.
The client is a market leading supplier of intimate healthcare products and services operating across Ostomy Care, Continence Care, Urology Care and Wound and Skin Care markets.
Qualifications
Degree-educated in a business/economics field, post-graduate qualifications such as CIMA or MBA would be beneficial
Full UK drivers’ licence
Experience Required
Minimum of five years’ experience from a combination of management consulting, commercial development, commercial finance roles – ideally within the healthcare industry – medical devices experience would be an advantage.
Proven project / programme management skills.
Strong drive, ambitious and structured about problem solving.
Proven leadership skills and capabilities with the ability to lead across the organisation – not just your own team.
Worked in a matrix environment, ideally with healthcare industry and senior level analytical experience
Proven track record in improvements in forecasting, segmentation and targeting, performance management process development and implementation.
Be passionate about your work and have a healthy appetite for solving complex business problems.
It is important that you can work with and influence people at different levels in the organisation.
Experience working with large data sets.
Understands effective use of CRM, ideally salesforce.com.
Excellent IT skills – super user of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
